The Committee for a Better Atlanta is a business coalition whose mission is to foster a healthy business environment by advocating a common business and civic agenda to policymakers as well as citizens.
The 2009 election will be an important one for Atlanta. In the past eight years, we have enjoyed a visionary and ethical mayor. But Mayor Shirley Franklin leaves office in January 2010, and it is crucial that we build on her accomplishments - and go further in improving Atlanta and its city government.
Elected officials are critical because they determine the infrastructure and services that make a city desirable. Elections for City of Atlanta's mayor, city council president and all city council seats will be held this year on Nov. 3.
